Home Care for Children in Manchester: A Safer, Family-Centred Approach
From Research to Reality: The Evidence Behind Home Care for Children
For children with complex medical conditions, frequent hospitalisation can negatively impact early development and place immense strain on families. At Meli Haven, we are building a compassionate, community-based alternative. Founded by our CEO, Efstathia Kariampa, we are an upcoming provider dedicated to delivering high-quality Home Care for Children across Manchester.
Driven by Research and Evidence
The vision for Meli Haven is deeply rooted in academic research. Our CEO and founder conducted a systematic literature review at London Metropolitan University exploring how to reduce hospital admissions through effective home-based care.
Reducing Hospital Admissions
NHS data highlights that for every 2.5 children who receive care at home through remote monitoring or virtual wards, one hospital admission is successfully avoided. Effective home care reduces pressure on hospitals while providing families with greater stability and supported daily routines.
Our Care Philosophy: Centred Around Your Family
Our core philosophy mirrors the Family-Centred Care (FCC) framework. This model acknowledges that a child's optimal well-being is achieved through genuine collaboration, clinical flexibility, and transparent information sharing.
• Family-centred: Care is planned around each child and their unique family unit.
• Community-based: Support is delivered at home and linked closely with local services in Manchester.
• Individualised: We create tailored plans that truly reflect your child's evolving needs.
